Prospectus: Just because this game is nationally televised on ESPN doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a blowout. Only one game separates the Eagles and Tar Heels in the ACC standings, but they are much further apart in terms of overall quality. You might want to tune in anyway to see the nation’s top offense–North Carolina ranks first in adjusted offensive efficiency, at 1.23 points per possession. The Tar Heels are murder on the offensive glass, and that means trouble for the Eagles, who are worst in the ACC at securing defensive boards despite being among the 50 tallest teams in D-I.

CSTB is pretty much the best sports blog that I read. Deadspin is ESPNX or something. A bit fratty, not hip, forced, etc. If his new book is about attacking MSM…well that is silly and typical.

Leitch is guilty of having a sports blog that isn’t always funny and to me that is not worth ripping him over. Sometimes, Deadspin is very funny. I guess I don’t get the hating part. 99% of sports blogs are 95% lame. (according to pomeroy)

Making jokes about Bryant Gumbel and Tony Dungy being white is not funny, but it is not racist either.

Since CSTB was the first sports blog I really paid attention to and GC was in his full-on Leith-hating phase when I started paying attention, I have a pretty negative view of Deadspin. But you look like a douche if you publish something in a book and then admit it was stupid when Scott Simon calls you on it.
