A Jacket’s Nest

A ‘tough’ game tonight, indeed. Georgia Tech is coming off a brutal loss at Virginia and must win two more games to be a ‘lock’ for the Madness. One of those games is at home to BC and the other could be against another desperate team in the ACC Tournament. I caught some of that Virginia game and Tech showed great poise in coming back from a big first half deficit as well as poor poise blowing their (smaller) lead late. Nevertheless, the Jackets have been very strong in Atlanta, losing only to UCLA and Virginia Tech there. Heel’s fans can sympathize with the later. Two of Tech’s three leading scores are guards, so this could be a real test for Carolina’s guards to…well…be tough. Especially important could be Jarvis Crittenton’s performance. In his last four games he’s scored 29, 12, 22, and 10. Guess which two games the Yellow Jackets lost?

It will be interesting to see if Roy makes any changes to his rotation or if the Heels pressure the Jackets full court. I don’t think those kind of changes are necessary, but Roy might shake things up. North Carolina has lost their last three games in Atlanta, but this team has shown bounebackability (Len Elmore said so).
