Kenny G Returns to the Smith Center

The Bulldogs visit Chapel Hill tonight and many will fondly recall Kenny George from last year’s game with UNCA. I’m not going to write anything bad about him because: 1. He is completely fascinating. 2. He is a big 7’7″ and could easily eat Bol and Muresan for breakfast.  Anyways the dude has apparently learned a bit about basketball and so perhaps he’ll not be so amusing this evening. UNCA’s coach is a former Wolfpack player and so I’m sure he’ll be talking with the valet after the game. Not surprisingly, UNCA is ranked 5th in blocks and they also don’t give up a lot of free throws. The Bulldogs also can shoot the three. We can’t be caught looking ahead to State. If we show up, we shouldn’t have too many problems. Tip is at 7 and the game is televised on ESPNU.

Roy has some words about tonight and addressed Q’s struggles on Sunday.

“There’s no question that will be good for us,” Williams said. “Que didn’t have a very good game (at Clemson) and yet that’s not really fair for him to be out two or three games and all of a sudden put him in a game on the road with a pressing team.

“He’s not full speed by any means. You can watch him and see that he doesn’t have that acceleration and that push off of that foot. It was a little unfair for him, but at the same time there’s no question we need all those guys to be the kind of team we want to be and get to where we want to get to.”

Is Que really short for Quentin? Is it pronounced quay? Thomas really needs to play better, but if the worst case is that Ty ends up playing 35 minutes instead of 30….well that might work out OK.  Dan Wiederer really needs to leave the player’s personal life out of the newspapers. Take it easy Bobby.

Tough break for Dook. Who will come in to foul Psycho now? Big win for the Canes last night. I advise JR to be patient before mortgaging the future. Is tonight the night? (giggling)
